FIGURATION
Portraits, self-portraits, figures – the works shown here extend the central concern of the practice into the human realm. Faces are drawn in pencil and colored pencil, often paired with an animal, a plant, an architectural fragment. These pairings are not allegorical. They place the figure within the same field of relations that shapes the other drawings: a sense that the human body is never separate from what surrounds it.
The line stays quiet. What interests the work is presence and identity.
