INTERWEAVING
The interweaving drawings shown here are made primarily in charcoal and mixed media on paper. They emerge in the studio, often beginning from a photograph or a remembered impression, and grow through a slow process of accumulation, extension, and invention.
What appears is something close to forest, but more concentrated – a tissue of branch, root, moss, and shadow, denser than nature itself. The familiar dissolves into structure. What the work records is less the appearance of a place than its inner logic: a habitat built entirely from relation.
