PAINTING PRESENCE

Short film exploring perception, presence and the act of painting.

Film by Marcel Liehr

In a world that is constantly accelerating, where perception fragments and attention becomes fleeting, this work emerges as a counter-movement.

It invites a crossing, from the visible into the felt, from the physical into a state of inner presence. Rooted in painting, it unfolds as a quiet immersion into the moment. Each brushstroke becomes a passage, dissolving the sense of time and allowing a deeper awareness to arise.

At its center, a single bloom, not merely an image, but a portal, a living meditation. Surrounded by the stillness of the forest, the work moves in resonance with nature. Outer and inner landscapes begin to reflect one another. Voice and image do not explain, they accompany, gently guiding toward presence.

Painting, here, is no longer representation. It becomes a practice of arrival. A remembering. A quiet step out of the noise of the world into the immediacy of being. As if echoing a thought, that perhaps at some point we must simply speak of flowers, not as objects, but as expressions of being itself.
